Heidelberg Materials is one of the world’s largest integrated manufacturers of building materials and solutions with more than 50,000 employees worldwide. In the UK we operate over 300 manufacturing sites and employ more than 4,000 people.

Our Padeswood cement works has been operating since 1949 and is one of three cement plants owned by Heidelberg Materials in the UK. The site supplies both bulk and packed cement and employs more than 110 people as well as supporting many more in our supply chain.

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is a growing sector worldwide and our Padeswood project will create around 50 new jobs as well as up to 500 more during construction. It is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building the UK’s first carbon capture facility at a cement works.

We are actively recruiting new members of the project team in a wide range of engineering, management and administrative roles.

Opportunities to join our team will increase as our CCS project progresses. Once the carbon capture facility is operational, we will need to recruit:

  • CCS operations and engineering managers
  • mechanical and electrical engineers
  • chemical (process) engineer
  • compliance manager
  • E&I technicians
  • maintenance technicians
  • control room operator
  • mechanical fitter/welder
  • civil engineer
  • safety specialist
  • project management
  • finance manager and analyst
  • administrators
  • data analyst
