My Experience at Heidelberg Materials
My experience at Heidelberg Materials has been very positive. Starting as an apprentice, I gained valuable exposure to a range of roles within the concrete business. This provided me with a strong understanding of how different teams work together and contribute to our overall success.
My apprenticeship gave me a solid foundation for future roles within the company. I began in the technical team, where I developed an understanding of concrete products, quality control processes, and the work involved in product development. I then moved into operations, where I learned how technical designs are translated into a real world product. Understanding how concrete plants operate and the challenges involved in supplying customers safely was priceless. It also gave me the opportunity to demonstrate my skills and develop further within the operational side of the business.
My Current Role
I am currently a Territory Sales Manager responsible for the Birmingham, Oldbury, and Weeford plants. Getting this position would not have been possible for me without the knowledge and experience I gained during both my apprenticeship and my time as Area Technical Manager and Technical Specialist.
This is a new challenge and opportunity. So far it has allowed me to build stronger relationships with customers, gain a better understanding of their needs, and promote the range of products and services that Heidelberg Materials can offer. My previous experience enables me to bring a well rounded perspective when supporting customers and finding solutions to their requirements.
Looking Ahead
My goal is to continue developing and mastering my role within sales. Having gained experience across sales, technical, and operational roles, I believe I have built a strong foundation for future opportunities within the business.
I am committed to continuing my professional development, expanding my knowledge, and taking on new challenges as my career progresses. I look forward to contributing further to the success of Heidelberg Materials while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
