Description of Team / Department

You will have real responsibilities from early on in your career and the opportunity to learn something new every day. As a trusted member of the team you will have the freedom to manage your own time and have involvement in projects essential to the continuous development of our products. You will develop skills in an aggregate quarry and also out on site, alongside a team of motivated people who will support you. You will gain experience in all areas of the business specialising in aggregate production including carrying out testing to ensure a high quality product is delivered to our customers

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role

Alongside your day to day role on site you will also 'earn while you learn' by completing a foundation degree in mineral extractives, this can also be topped up to a full honours degree. All study is fully funded by Heidelberg Materials and you will be paid a competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package, supported by a mentor as well as your line manager.

During the three year programme you are gaining experience and relevant qualifications in operational aspects of our business alongside distance learning delivered by The University of Derby. From year four onwards you could progress to a supervisory role whilst studying towards an honours degree

Skills / Experience

Key requirements for this fantastic opportunity:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and Science
  • 2 A-C A Levels or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence (or at least have this in place by August 2020).
  • Must be willing and able to relocate at any stage during the programme to benefit from the opportunities on offer.
